Visited Barangay Bañadero in Calamba City Laguna and attended the FHMoms – Filipina Homebased Moms “Computer Para Kay Nanay Project” in partnership with USAID Philippines and The Asia Foundation. This is a one day intensive training session of digital skills to 22 mothers and student beneficiaries. They are also rewarded with certificates and starter laptops to help them jumpstart their virtual assistance career.
The program focused on equipping participants with the knowledge and tools needed to thrive in the growing virtual assistant (VA) industry. Through the training, the mothers and students gained valuable skills in areas like communication, project management, and essential computer applications.
The day’s culmination saw a celebratory atmosphere as all participants received certificates of completion, along with a crucial tool for their newfound skills – starter laptops. These laptops will be instrumental in allowing the beneficiaries to pursue virtual assistant careers and unlock new opportunities for earning and personal growth.
This collaboration between FHMoms, USAID Philippines, and The Asia Foundation demonstrates a successful model for empowering women and young people in Calamba City. By equipping them with the necessary tools and training, the “Computer Para Kay Nanay” Project opens doors to a brighter future filled with economic independence and digital-age opportunities.
